The Mall Walk for Awareness began in 2020 as an inclusive, accessible community event that brings people together to walk indoors, connect with one another, and learn about local resources. The event is open to the public and welcomes people of all ages and abilities. Each year, we typically welcome 500+ participants throughout the day.
New this year, the event will feature two distinct sessions, allowing community partners to connect with different audiences:
Morning Session | 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
This session focuses on children and adults with disabilities and their supports. It will kick off with the Walk for Awareness, during which participants stop at community partner tables to learn about programs, events, and services that are inclusive and accessible for people with disabilities.
Afternoon Session | 12:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
This session focuses on parents, families, caregivers, providers who support individuals with developmental disabilities and senior citizens, focusing on resources that meet shared needs and support caregivers across the lifespan.
