CANTON, Ohio — The Stark County Board of Developmental Disabilities will hold a Special Board Meeting on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. in the Cohen Room at the Whipple-Dale Centre, 2950 Whipple Avenue NW, Canton, Ohio.
The purpose of the Special Meeting is to hear an appeal pursuant to Ohio Administrative Code 5123-4-04 (Resolution of complaints involving county boards of developmental disabilities and appeals of adverse action proposed or initiated by county boards of developmental disabilities). The appeal concerns an adverse action taken by the Stark County Board of Developmental Disabilities.
Due to the nature of the appeal, protected health information and other confidential information may be discussed during the proceedings. Accordingly, the Board's original notice indicated that it would enter Executive Session to hear matters required to be kept confidential under federal and state law. However, on July 22, 2026, the family exercising its rights under Ohio Administrative Code 5123-4-04 requested that the appeal hearing be conducted in public. In accordance with that request, the appeal hearing and all related proceedings will be conducted in open session and will be open to the public.
Following the hearing, the Board may take up to thirty (30) days to render a decision regarding the appeal.
The meeting is open to the public. Additionally, viewers can watch the meeting livestream through the Stark County Board of Developmental Disabilities Facebook page at www.facebook.com/StarkDD.
BY ORDER OF THE PRESIDENT
Jessica Falvo Lang, M.D.
